Ask it what a front desk would know.
Frontdesk answers in plain sentences, in your time zone, from what it actually saw at the door.
-
You
"Alexa, ask Front Desk if the plumber showed up."
Frontdesk"Yes. The plumber rang at 10:41, eleven minutes late."
-
You
"Add Priya, electrician, Friday at nine fifteen."
Frontdesk"Got it. Priya, contractor, Friday October 2, 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM."
-
You
"Anything I should know?"
Frontdesk"Someone rang at 12:30 and nobody was expected. A package was left at 1:20."
The calendar says who's coming. The door says who came.
Frontdesk lines the two up all day. A match is quiet. A no-show, a late arrival or a stranger at the door is something it tells you about.
Your calendar
Google Calendar, Airbnb, VRBO or Outlook, through the private link they all offer. Visits you add by voice are written back, and edits in the calendar come back to the desk.
Your door
Ring doorbells and cameras: who rang, whether a person, car or package was seen, and when. Each event is checked against who is expected.
Your voice
Alexa asks, Frontdesk answers in words. Short enough to hear once, specific enough to act on.
What it will never do.
- Send video anywhereAnswers are words and small cards. Camera footage stays with Ring.
- Recognize facesIt knows a person was there, and whether they were expected. Never who they are by their face.
- Let anyone inAnything sensitive is a suggestion. A person always decides.
Built as an MCP server.
Any MCP client can use the same tools Alexa does: arrivals, alerts, recent activity, people, and adding or cancelling a visit. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The core that reads Ring events and learns a place's routine is open source.
